Abstract

To explore the effect of Echinacea on oxidative stress injury in vascular dementia rats, and analyze its
protective mechanism. The rat model of vascular dementia was established and divided into three groups:
normal control group, model group and Echinacea glycoside group. The rats in the model group were not given
drug injection, while those in the Echinacea group were given 30mg / kg / D Echinacea injection; after the
completion of the group, the rats in the control group were not given any drug injection, and the rats were given
corresponding drugs or physiological saline intraperitoneally every day for 4 weeks. The expression levels of
dopamine (DA), noradrenaline (NE), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), nitric oxide (no), β-brain natriuretic peptide
(β-EP), TNF-α, IL-1 β in hippocampus of four groups of rats were compared by fluorescence spectrophotometer
and ELISA. Compared with the normal group, the levels of dopamine (DA), noradrenaline (NE),
5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in the model group were significantly lower, the difference was statistically
significant (P( P < 0.05), compared with the normal control group, the expression of no in model group and
Echinacea group decreased, compared with the model group, the expression of no in Echinacea group increased,
the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Compared with the normal control group, the expression of
β-brain natriuretic peptide (β-EP) in the model group and the Echinacea glycoside group increased. Compared
with the model group, the expression of β-brain natriuretic peptide (β-EP) in the Echinacea glycoside group
decreased significantly (P < 0.05). Compared with the normal control group, the expression of TNF-α and IL-1
β in the model group and the Echinacea glycoside group increased, Compared with the model group, the
expression of TNF-α and IL-1 β decreased in the pineoside group, and the difference was statistically significant
(P < 0.05). Echinacea has a better protective effect on oxidative stress injury in vascular dementia rats.
