Effect of Berberine on Gastric Mucosa of Gastritis Model Rats Induced by Helicobacter Pylori

To explore the effect of berberine on gastric mucosa of gastritis model rats induced by Helicobacter
pylori and analyze its mechanism. 30 SD mice were used to establish the gastritis model induced by
Helicobacter pylori. Among them, 15 mice were given berberine and 15 rats were given normal saline. Two
weeks later, the gastric mucosa of the rats was taken for bacterial culture to observe the changes of the quantity
of Helicobacter pylori in the gastric mucosa. The serum of the rats was taken to measure MDA, SOD and EGFR.
Compared with the model group, the number of Helicobacter pylori in the berberine group decreased
significantly (P < 0.05). After treatment, the serum MDA content of berberine group decreased significantly, the
SOD and EGFR content of gastric tissue increased significantly (P < 0.05). Berberine has a good recovery effect
on the gastric mucosa injury caused by Helicobacter pylori. Anti Helicobacter pylori and regulating the secretion
of gastric mucosa protective factor are the main mechanisms of action in the treatment of gastritis caused by
Helicobacter pylori.
