Effects of Chitosan and Forsythiaside on Exercise Ability and Glycolipid Metabolism in Rats

In modern society, with the improvement of living standards, more and more people suffer from
hyperlipidemia and hyperglycemia. Chitosan and Forsythiaside have a variety of functions, such as regulating
blood sugar, reducing blood lipid, protecting mucosal tissue, hemostasis, and has good effects in regulating
immunity. In this paper, forty SD rats obesity model was established with fed of high-sucrose/high-fat diet for 8
weeks and randomly divided into four groups: chitosan group (group A), forsythiaside group (group B),
experimental group and blank group. Each group were fed with high-sucrose/high-fat. On this basis, group A, B,
C were added with chitosan, forsythiaside, chitosan and forsythiaside respectively, blank group were treated
with no drugs. After 8 weeks, the weight and exhaustive swimming time of rats were measured. TG, TC, LDL,
HDL, FBG, Fins, GLUT-4, HOMA-IR and insulin resistance were measured to analyze the lipid and the blood
sugar level. After the experiment we found that chitosan can reduce the content of fat and blood sugar in rats.
Forsythiaside can enhance the exhaustive swimming ability of rats during anaerobic exercise, the application of
chitosan and forsythiaside can improve the athletic ability and reduce the content of blood lipid and blood sugar
in rats.
