Bluetongue (BT) is an insect–borne viral disease of domestic and wild ruminants caused by bluetongue
virus (BTV), belonging to genus Orbivirus and family Reoviridae. BTV is a non enveloped dsRNA virus. The
genome of BTV consists of 10 segments dsRNA encoding 7 structural (VP1 to VP7) and 4 non structural proteins.
